Residents Medical Auxiliary (RMA)

Residents Medical Auxiliary (RMA)

The RMA has many great activities this year; there is something for everyone. Playgroup will meet every Tuesday at Hidden Park in Loma Linda and have a few “Field Trips” throughout the year. Culinary Club will meet the first Tuesday of each month with a different theme or activity. Book Club will meet the third Thursday of each month. There will be several community service opportunities this year. The first one is collecting items to send care packages to servicemen overseas. Helping hands are always here to help any family who needs it. Finally, activities for everyone include the opening social, Christmas party and end of the year party. ~ Crystal Burdick

RMA Board Members 2016

President: Shannon Langager. Hi, my name is Shannon Langager. This is my second year on the RMA committee, first year as President. I am excited for this upcoming year. My husband is a third year resident in anesthesia. We have a fiveyear-old girl, an almost 3-year-old boy, and we are due to have our third (another girl) in the next couple of weeks.

Secretary: Crystal Burdick. Hi, my name is Crystal Burdick. This is my third year as the RMA Secretary. My responsibilities include updating the FB page, sending out emails, and putting together the newsletter. My husband Daniel is currently a Pain Fellow, and just completed his PM&R residency here at Loma Linda. We have two boys ages 6 and 4. We love being outdoors, hiking and going to the beach whenever we have the chance. I am honored to be a part of the RMA. Moving to a new place is hard and the RMA made the transition a little easier. It is made up of families who are going through the same situations so we can all relate to each other in ways other people can’t.

Community Service: Farinia Peters. I’m Farinia Peters. I am currently staying at home with our two daughters (4yrs and 1yr) and have a background in education and civic service. My husband Eric is a PGY 4 Radiology resident who looks forward to completing a Neuroradiology fellowship. We enjoy our time off completing puzzles and traveling California before the next leg of our journey.

Treasurer: Mindee Chidester. My name is Mindee Chidester. I am the RMA treasurer this year! We just started our 6th year of residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery here at Loma Linda and are headed to USC in July to complete a hand fellowship. We have 2 kids (7 year old boy, and 5 year old girl). I’m so grateful to be a part of RMA. It is so nice to have such a wonderful support system as we venture through this medical journey!
